Football
The primary mission of the Boyertown Optimist Youth Football Program is to aid and encourage the development of youth, in the belief that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well-being of the community. To develop Optimism in all student-athletes grades K thru 6th for their growth not only as football players but also as young citizens within our community. This will be accomplished by improving their life skills as well as their football abilities. All participants will be afforded the opportunity to improve these life skills through education, friendship, teamwork, and football. The purpose of this program is to provide safe, supervised football activities for the youth within the Boyertown Area School District.
The objectives shall be the following:
– To build healthy bodies and minds
– To stimulate community interest in football and stress parental involvement thru volunteerism
– To have fun
– To accomplish these things with the welfare of the children first and foremost, without adult ambition for personal glory
– To teach the foundation of:

Boyertown Optimist Football is open to boys/girls in K thru 6th grade.
Boys and Girls in K & 1st grades are eligible to play flag football.
Boys and Girls in 2nd through 6th are eligible to play tackle football.
Starting August Tackle season will start with Heat Acclimation week.
Practices will be 4 days per week until the school season starts. 3 days per week after school starts.
Provided Equipment: (Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Mouthpiece, Practice Jersey).
Not provided Equipment: (Cleats*, Football Pants, Game Jersey**)
Games are Saturday or Sunday depending on location and opponent.
Flag and Tackle will play on grade-based teams competing in the Inter County Football League.
*Optimist Football has cleat exchange program displayed during equipment fitting sessions.
**Game Jersey is additional fee with last name on back of Jersey.
